Church donates teddy bears to aid police for kids
Six year old Katie Gan away readily admitted she wanted one of the teddy bears. I feel good about that. St Paul Lutheran Church prepared 161 bears for donation to the Aiken Department of Public Safety, the Aiken County Sheriff's Office and the Cumbee Center. Church members Larry White and Nancy Lambert coordinated the project. White said the idea came from a Sunday school session on random acts of kindness and a desire to help officers comfort children in accidents or emergencies. White's brother in Indiana provided bears at a good price and shipped them to Aiken, with funds raised by church members. The project aims to be ongoing.
