Kindred Spirits Mailbox Preserves Beach Voices for Decades
At Sunset Beach North Carolina a mailbox on Bird Island has held decades of life stories from locals and visitors. Offenhand notes and heartfelt entries cover divorces marriages prayers and memories archived at UNC Wilmington. Frank Nesmith 90 began the box 40 years ago and remains its custodian though the writings now wind up in the university library.
