Youth 17 Sentenced for Fire at Aiken Center
A 17 year old, Sammy Barker, pleaded guilty to setting fire to non dwelling buildings at the Aiken Youth Correction Center and received up to six years under the Youthful Offenders Act. The state said Barker started the blaze by showing off to friends and dipping his finger into paint thinner. Several others faced guilty pleas in related actions, including larceny and driving under the influence offenses with varying jail terms and probation.
