Jurors Told to Report for Possible Sequestration in Carter Trial
Circuit Court Judge Clifton Newman told qualified jurors they will likely be sequestered in the Stephen Carter murder case. Jurors were asked to bring two weeks of clothing as sequestration could keep them away from home. Carter, 22, faces first-degree murder charges in the Dec 20, 2011 shooting death of Master Public Safety Officer Scotty Richardson during a traffic stop on Brandt Court. Richardson died the next morning.
