Miranda’s Geology Baffles Scientists
Geologists studying Uranus and its moons say Miranda shows the most complex terrain yet seen in the solar system with towering cliffs deep canyons and broad valleys. Voyager 2 data from Uranus suggests severe forces shaped the moons during their formation though the exact cause remains unknown. Earth-based data also hints at additional ring material around Uranus beyond the nine known rings.
