Landmark Group eyes Seminole Mill sale for Clearwater redevelopment
Aiken County Council will hear first reading on a proposed ordinance to sell the 14.8 acre Seminole Mill site in Clearwater to The Landmark Group for redevelopment into apartment and condo housing with state housing tax credits. The deal aligns with a prior option to sell that lapsed in September after the group failed to receive tax credits. The council also weighs a budget amendment to add 15 emergency positions, five more ambulances, and two quick response vehicles, raising EMTs to 73 with a net $715,000 increase, while considering a 2 a.m. weekday and 11:59 p.m. Saturday closing time for county alcohol venues. The meeting is at 7 p.m. in chambers, 736 Richland Ave.
