Officials Search For Hit and Run Driver In Beech Island Deaths
Beech Island authorities continue to investigate the Friday hit and run that killed two youths, Clifford Johnson 14, and Teresa Anne Kelly 12, on S C 278 near Beech Island. Coroner Sue Townsend said slim leads exist as investigators consider an 18 wheel truck or a car in the eastbound lane as possible culprits. The victims were riding a motorcycle at dusk wearing dark clothing and no lights, making it hard for a driver to see them.
