DSS Aiken County to double welfare closures and boost foster outcomes
Social service groups hear DSS leaders set Wildly Important Goals to double positive welfare closures to 10 120 by June 30 and raise positive permanency in foster care by 50 percent. State and county progress show 86 percent and 84 percent of targets reached respectively with emphasis on parental employment and long term foster placements.
