Raccoon abuse case leads to two officers charged
PAWLEYS ISLAND AP two police officers Charles Freeman and Tony Huff face animal cruelty charges after a raccoon was sprayed with Mace battered and fatally shot. Both men posted $200 bonds and the incident began January 12 when the raccoon wandered onto the town hall porch during a council session. The next day a limping dazed raccoon was seen nearby and Huff said he shot it. Residents believe it was the same injured animal.
