Hotel Plan Is Labeled Pipe Dream in Willcox Hearing

Representatives for owner Joseph Ewans presented a 482400 renovation plan for the Willcox Hotel but City Attorney Henry Summerall Jr. called it a pipe dream during a Master-In-Equity hearing. Architects detailed a plan to reduce the building to seven dwellings by removing the top floor to meet codes at lower cost though financing remains unorganized. Urban warned costs to halt deterioration and bring the hotel to code could reach about 700000, with earlier offers of 80000 and 2000 down payments noted.
