Investigators spent five days sorting files in an FBI evidence room in Columbia without reporting findings as they probe a 10 year old state capital gains tax credit. Sen. Tommy Moore leads a Senate subcommittee authorized by Judge Falcon Hawkins to copy needed materials from the Lost Trust case. The tax credit, covering 13 months, saved more than 20 million for about 21 people before its repeal. SRS Officials Pause ITP Plan as Benzene Concerns Rise
Savannah River Site officials told Friday they will review options to better prepare millions of gallons of low level salt solutions for disposal. Westinghouse asked the Energy Department to suspend ITP modifications after engineers found higher than expected benzene levels during waste separation.
