Rescue over Bay Point Island ends five day ordeal

Charleston couple Pettigrew and wife Katie, ages 81 and 80, were blown out to sea on a fishing trip Thursday. Their 18 foot boat washed ashore on Bay Point Island Saturday after three days in 12 foot waves. A Marine Corps Air Station helicopter spotted them Monday, saving the pair. In Chicago, Buck Rogers creator’s grandchildren mark 60th anniversary with plans for new books and a film.

Bundy Executed for 1978 Murder in Florida

Ted Bundy, the notorious killer linked to multiple 1970s cases, was executed by electric chair at Florida State Prison for the 1978 kidnapping, rape, and murder of 12-year-old Kimberly Leach. SRP Reactor Restart Now Expected In Fall

DOE safety officials say restarting Savannah River Plant reactors could extend into fall with new contractor Westinghouse Savannah River Co taking over in April. Three production reactors, sole source of tritium gas for weapons, have been shut since last summer for management and hardware improvements.
