The dedication ceremony for the completed Aiken County Judicial Center drew state officials and local leaders despite rain. Speakers hailed the center as a lasting home for a fair, efficient judiciary with plans for future service by generations of county residents.
Aiken planners review an application for a Hardee’s on York Street southwest of Northside Plaza. Owner Ronald B. Bolton will lease the site. Also on the agenda are a mobile home sales lot on Richland Avenue and landscaping at Woodside Plantation.
The Aiken Choral Society will hold auditions tomorrow and Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church. Rehearsals begin at 7:30 p.m. at the same location.
The dedication ceremony for the Aiken County Judicial Center revealed portraits of Sen. Strom Thurmond, Judge Charles E. Simons III, and Chief Justice Julius B. Ness. Family members presented the portraits while Governor officials praised their standards of justice and lifelong service.
