AAUW Book Sale Opens in Aiken Center
The Aiken AAUW branch opened donations in the Goody's space at Aiken Exchange Shopping Center. The sale runs March 5 and 6 with hours 9 am to 6 pm Friday and 9 am to 2 pm Saturday, while donations are accepted Saturdays 9 am 3 pm and Tuesdays 9 am 1 pm through the 47th Books N Things Fair. Heart Board tea and 41st annual benefit musical
The Aiken Women's Heart Board hosts a Wednesday tea at the Reed home on Brandy Road with a preview of the early 1950s house history. In March the group presents the 41st annual heart benefit musical Aiken's Most Excellent Adventure featuring 24 local singers and actors directed by Jim Moore with music supervision by Darrell Rains. Proceeds go to the South Carolina Chapter of the American Heart Association for research, awareness, and training. Tickets cost 25 for evenings and 20 for matinees and may be reserved by local contacts for each performance.
