Country Gardeners Meet at Mrs Scott Home
Country Gardeners held December meeting at the seasonally decorated home of Mrs. Scott with 24 members in attendance. Nelda McCreery described Crepe Myrtle care, read a Poinsettia poem, and Sally Anaclerio praised litter pickups on adopted roads. Robb ie Sampson reported a $100 Arbor Day gift to the City of Aiken and the group raised $420 at a Christmas auction for 1998 community projects.

Lee predicts continued bullish market outlook in Aiken
David A. Lee, research coordinator and VP at Robinson Humphrey Co. Atlanta, told the Aiken Kiwanis Club on Thursday that the U.S. economy is the best in a generation and the bull market will persist. He cited low inflation, low unemployment, and excess overseas capacity as restraints on prices while forecasting declining long term rates and solid returns for telecom equipment makers, insurers, and banks. John Crupi leads the Kiwanis and the club meets Thursdays at 1 p.m. at Houndslake Country Club.
