New board officers were sworn in at the Aiken County Community Action Commission banquet held at the H O Weeks Center. Manuel J. Nivens was reelected chairman with Homer McGee as vice chairman. T A Hammond and Edith Parke became treasurer and secretary. Frank Galardi of the county sheriff s department spoke on bringing God into jails and back to basics to address national problems. A color television was awarded to Victoria Williams.

Friday Weather Outlook With Cloudy Skies
The forecast calls for mostly cloudy conditions tonight and Friday with a rising chance of rain from 10 percent tonight to 40 percent tomorrow. Temperatures stay mild with lows in the mid 30s and highs in the mid 50s. Thieves Strike Cars At North Augusta Licensing Site
Two thefts in the parking lot of the South Carolina Highway Department in North Augusta totaled more than 1,000 dollars. Wade Davis reported 1,004 dollars of camera equipment stolen from his truck while repairing the driver's license camera. Thomas Wayne Pitts reported 80 dollars in a CB amplifier stolen from his car. Pitts serves as a license examiner at the North Augusta office.
