Drug Arrests Lit City School Grounds
The first drug arrest of the year on city school grounds was made by Ai ken Police. A 17 year old youth Tim Padgett of Rt. 4 Box 368 was charged with simple possession of marijuana. Police also arrested Freddie Mays 45 of 312 Park Ave Aiken on charges of larceny from an auto and obtaining money under false pretenses. A missing cyclopropane gas cylinder from Aiken County Hospital prompted a search. an oxygen cylinder was recovered behind a vacant house at Abbeville and Laurens Street after a phone tip.
