Turpin parents held on charges after malnourished children found
Riverside County deputies responded to a Perris home after a 17 year old daughter escaped and reported severe neglect. Capt. Greg Fellows said the mother Louise Turpin 49 and father David Turpin 57 faced possible charges of child endangerment and torture. Nine or more children ages 2 to 29 were found malnourished and chained at times. The couple posted bail set at 9 million dollars and planned to appear in court. Authorities noted no prior visits by social services or police to the residence.
