A Laurens Street Elementary School program at 4 p.m. tomorrow by Pat Votova will address parents and teachers on artist in residence programs and grants. The public may attend.

Columbia Perry B. Smith, accused of killing Johnston postmaster Charles McGee and wounding three others on August 19, was ruled incompetent to stand trial by 11th Circuit Solicitor Donald Meyers. Psychiatrists at the state mental hospital had reversed earlier findings after examination in September. Meyers said options are being checked and he still hopes to proceed to trial.
The fourth in a series titled low mood Lone lines Volunteerism will be held in the first floor conference room at Aiken Community Hospital from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday with panelists Ann Taylor Dr Henry Chou and Frank McCrosson. Co sponsored by Lower Savannah Council of Governments and the hospital. Attendance limited to those 60 and over. Capacity 35.
