Aiken County Council sends a proposed rezoning to the Planning Commission to review alternate zoning options for 362 parcels totaling about 1935 acres near Pinegrove Road Storm Branch Road Old Cherokee Drive Augusta Road and Easy Street Beech Island in District 3. Residents seek to keep mobile home parks out and favor RD or AP zoning to protect agriculture while limiting mobile homes. Council weighs AP zoning for most parcels. RD remains for one parcel per Planning Commission recommendation.

Nearly 160 people attended the Clays for Conservation fundraiser at the National Wild Turkey Federation Palmetto Shooting Complex to aid the Aiken Land Conservancy. Veteran Cyber Defender advances with SRR and degree progress
Harry Zane a 25 year Army veteran and SRR Cyber Security Analyst since 2014 pursued a bachelor’s degree in Automated Information Systems at Augusta University while supporting SRR’s veteran development program. He led the Cyber Jags in the National Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition prelim and plans a master’s in Information Security Management, using his story to inspire family and colleagues.
