House approves 50.7B emergency aid for Sandy aftermath
The House voted 241 to 180 to approve 50.7 billion dollars in Superstorm Sandy relief after weeks of party divisions. Democrats backed the measure. Republicans largely opposed it as they pressed for spending offsets. The Senate was expected to pass the package and send it to President Obama.
