Task Force Drug Sweep Nets 12 Arrests

A seven hour operation by the Multiple Jurisdiction Task Force in Aiken County resulted in 12 drug arrests. Agencies involved included the Aiken County Sheriff's Office State Law Enforcement Division New Ellenton Police Department and the Aiken and North Augusta Departments of Public Safety. The sweep seized about $14 000 a 38 caliber automatic gun a 1979 Pontiac Grand Prix about 18 grams of crack cocaine and a small amount of marijuana. Arrests occurred on McCormick Street Pinecrest Avenue Jackson Street Gregg Street and Buena Vista Avenue.
