Dream Of Martin Luther King Jr Is Remembered In Aiken Service
About 150 people gathered at USC Aiken to remember Rev. Martin Luther King Jr on what would have been his 55th birthday. Rep. Theo Mitchell delivered the address as Norman Dickerson recited King's I Have a Dream speech. The event recalled King's leadership, nonviolence, and calls for equality and civil rights amid ongoing debates over voting rights and affirmative action. The program included USC Aiken ensembles, a color guard, and leaders from local churches.
