A 69 year old North Augusta woman is in fair condition after being shot by her 69 year old husband in a domestic dispute. The woman Louella Harper was taken to Medical College of Georgia by EMS. the husband was arrested and charged with assault and battery with intent to kill.

Bypass Track Threatens Rural Home Life Near Beaufort and Rutland

Residents along Wrights Mill Road face upheaval as state plans for the new S.C. 118 bypass may require rights of way. Dorothy Waymer, an Aiken Technical College assistant dean, bought her home in 1987 for country views and a pool. She fears the pool, pasture, and fenced playground will be lost or unsafe if the four lane road is built, disrupting life for her family and grandchildren.

Bypass Plan Outlines 3 8 Mile City Road Project

The $5.5 million bypass will create a four lane route from U S 1 Crosland Park southeast across Wire Wrights Mill Willow Run and Old Wagoner roads to join U S 78 and S C 302 at Richland Avenue Extension. Construction starts Oct 1 and ends with a Pine Log Road hookup as the city perimeter is completed.
