Restaurant Week lures South Carolina diners during slow period
Charleston officials report Restaurant Week South Carolina began in 2010 to boost hospitality during a quiet tourism season. The statewide event drew 109 restaurants that year and has grown to 220, prompting a second September promo in Charleston. Participating eateries offer special menus and discounts to attract repeat customers and new diners. Halls Chophouse owner Tommy Hall credits the promo with helping the business survive the recession era.
