Armed robbery at the Wilcox Inn on Christmas morning leads to two arrests. Mortia Green aged 20 of Polo Drive and Joey Chester Fulmer aged 17 of Sumter Street were charged after a 12:30 a.m. intrusion that netted about $200 from a money tray.

Hector Escudero Aponte already faces arson destruction of property and 96 murder counts. A hotel bus boy and Teamsters member suspected of providing fire start materials and aiding Escudero Aponte are in custody.
A Graniteville man John Miles 21 and accomplice Mordha Green 20 were arrested and charged with armed robbery after an attempted holdup at Kirkland's Grocery in Newland. Green claimed to be 12 and both fled in a stolen 1986 Chrysler during a 120 mph chase ending near Wagener. Three others were charged with burglary in a separate Dec 28 robbery at Eubanks Grocery in Aiken.
