Georgia man pleads guilty to 16 bank robberies in three months
Corey Ray Christie, 25, of Savannah, Georgia, pleaded guilty to robbing 16 banks in a spree starting after his release from a 57 month sentence. He robbed banks in South Carolina, Florida, Georgia, and three in Chattanooga before a Nov. 7, 2003 arrest. No gun was used though threats were made. A sentencing hearing is set for May 2 before US District Judge R Allan Edgar.
