Brush Fire Threatens Home On Union Baptist Road
A trash fire in dry wind-swept conditions spread toward homes on Union Baptist Road Tuesday afternoon. Firefighters from Aiken Public Safety Eureka and Couchton departments, aided by US Forestry with a bulldozer, contained two-acre damage near James B. Carter’s home. Carter and his daughter-in-law Tera Carter evacuated children as crews subdued the blaze by 5 pm.
