The Aiken City Council unanimously rehires Management Improvement Corporation of America for a one year contract after a prior arrangement yielded savings and earnings exceeding the $18 000 fee. FICA I and II cut Social Security taxes boosting annual city savings while a cash management plan consolidates accounts and targets investment gains. Farmers and Merchants Bank won a two year contract to handle city funds with a required minimum balance. MICA's fee remains payable only if expected savings fail to materialize.
