Gabriel Adasme ages 20 of Carriage Drive was charged with first degree burglary and breaking and entering into an automobile after witnesses reported a man entering unlocked cars. Police tracked him on foot from Cherry Drive to Maple Street where he was arrested. A stolen GPS unit was found on him. Investigators consider other thefts in the area.
The final phase of Palmetto Parkway I 520 opened about a year ago and officials note it has moved substantial truck traffic from downtown North Augusta. City planners say the project aims to spur development, reduce downtown truck traffic, and support Park and Ride and Greeneway extensions.
