The first 20 prisoners from Afghanistan described as the most dangerous al Qaida and Taliban captives arrived Friday at the Guantanamo Bay outpost in Cuba. Marines surrounded the shack where they were led into the facility.
Orangeburg South Carolina State President Leroy Davis Mason will retire Friday after six years as campus leader. He plans to pursue other professional interests and spend time with his family while continuing to push the university forward during financially challenging times.
