The IRS will delay tax refunds for more than 40 million families claiming the earned income tax credit and additional child tax credit to curb identity theft and fraud. Processing will extend into late February, aiming to screen fraudulent refunds while continuing season filing, with about 70 percent expected to receive refunds.
