British soldiers clash with protesters in Iraq killing six
British soldiers and Iraqi police clashed with armed protesters in southeastern Iraq on Saturday, leaving six dead. US officials said American soldiers inadvertently killed two Iraqi police after they failed to identify themselves. A US officer confirmed a medevac helicopter crash last week near Fallujah was shot down. Danish and Icelandic troops found a cache of 36 shells with a liquid chemical weapon, but the Danish army said they likely dated from the 1980s Iran Iraq war.
