Task forces urge campaign finance reform and changes to state offices
A panel convened by Mark Sanford seeks tougher campaign finance laws and elimination of several statewide elected posts. It calls for online disclosure of financial reports, longer waiting periods for lobbyists, and governor appointment of top officials in education, agriculture, national guard, and secretary of state, while preserving the governor and other key offices. The panel expects to forward ideas to Sanford as he takes office.
