Four county contest narrows in Aiken Edgefield Lexington race
The race for the Republican nomination in the Aiken Edgefield Lexington Saluda senate seat was decided in a four county primary. Cooper edged Truax 955 to 930 in the four counties but Truax carried Aiken County 577 to 480. Dooley awaits the Democratic nominee in the Feb 23 special election.

Thieves broke into Leroy Wembley’s service station on Williams Crossing along U S Highway 1 by a side window and opened a file cabinet to steal cash. Aiken teenager Danny Beheler, 16, suffered second degree burns on hands and legs when his motorcycle gas tank exploded during a heat source fire in a storage room.
