Aiken High teacher charged with inappropriate contact with student
Craig R. Kessler a 38 year old English and broadcasting teacher and yearbook adviser at Aiken High School was arrested on charges of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and incident and battery of a high and aggravated nature both misdemeanors with possible prison terms. Police say the inappropriate relationship with a 15 year old student lasted at least a month beginning in November 2008 with meetings on school grounds. He surrendered to authorities Friday and was booked at Aiken Public Safety after a bond hearing.

Police may release more on Smith case
Aiken police expect to release new information next week about the murder of Kennedy Middle School teacher Ann Smith. The 47 year old was stabbed multiple times and found dead at her Whitney Drive home after coworkers checked on her. DNA samples were sent to the FBI for analysis after the April 25 2008 death.
