Attorneys Back Off Recusal in 1969 Allen Case
Harrisburg defense lawyers for eight of nine white men charged in Lillie Belle Allen murder drop requests to bar York County bench from hearing the case. They previously sought an out of county judge, citing potential bias from Judge John C. Uhler and former prosecutors. Robertson and others plead not guilty. Uhler had recused from one pretrial matter but is now seen as capable and impartial by counsel.
