Opera auditions set for Jan 27 in Columbia
Aspiring opera singers from across the country and beyond will perform before three judges from the Metropolitan Opera Company in Columbia on Saturday January 27 at 10 am. The event at Columbia College Wright Spears Center offers free public access with a pathway to regional auditions in Atlanta and eventual Grand National Finals. Winners receive 1200 dollars at regional rounds, with larger prizes up to 15000 dollars and potential opera careers at stake. Proceeds from Viva LOpera fundraiser Saturday night benefit the South Carolina Auditions. Reservations: Bettie Edwards or Van Edwards.
