Las Vegas AP reports comedian Jack E Leonard 58 marries Gladys Esther Westling 32 at a wedding chapel. Leonard, twice married, was previously widowed in 1968. Westling, an art exhibitor, has three children and was divorced in Ventura, California the day before.
President Nixon, back from a nine day California trip, marked his 57th birthday with a quiet day at the White House. The calendar listed one official caller Terence Cardinal Cooke of New York who came to report on Nixon’s Vietnam visit before a private dinner with the first lady and Tricia.
Police barred the door to a UC Berkeley men’s karate class as about 50 coeds demanded equal education in self defense. They marched to the administration building where Vice Chancellor Robert Johnson pledged to present their case to the physical education department.

Aiken County homes have seen seven break ins since January with most thefts occurring while residents were away. TVs were common targets with five of seven homes hit. largest loss near 2300 dollars at J R Culp residence. Jewelry and firearms also stolen at several houses. one home yielded no loss.
