Cloudcroft New Mexico AP reports Howard Brewington an electronics technician and amateur comet hunter discovered a new comet Sunday night in the Pisces region. He described it as a white cotton ball with a bright condensed center noting it was a lucky hunting success and his first 1991 discovery, following a prior sighting last year.
In a London settlement, medieval art and manuscripts stolen by a GI at World War II’s end will return to the Lutheran Church of Quedlinburg in two months. The Dallas Museum of Art will disburse nearly 2.75 million to the soldier’s heirs before shipping the treasures to Germany. Lt. Joe T. Meador of Texas is believed to have removed the relics from a Quedlinburg mine shaft near the war’s end.

Federal officials reportedly seek a one third reduction in funding for a new production reactor at the Savannah River Site.
