Du Pont Calls EPI Report On Waste Storage False
Du Pont rebutted Environmental Policy Institute findings on waste tanks at Savannah River. It cited constant hydrogen monitoring and ventilation to keep levels safe, with historic explosions unlikely and confined to 1956 and 1962. The company denied links to worker cancers or local groundwater danger and defended ongoing treatment and containment upgrades.
