Aiken County police blotter reports burglaries and thefts

A vacant Marion Young Court home was broken into between Friday and Sunday. Suspect damaged lights and appliances, causing about $1,239 in damage. Woman at Augusta bar involved in theft and arrest

A woman at an Augusta bar Friday night was brought to a Bleachery Street home by a man who said she stole his wallet containing $175 cash and credit cards plus a $10 000 rental car. A 40 year old Beech Island man was arrested for malicious injury to real property and trespassing after an incident on Pinewood Park Circle. A 33 year old Beech Island man faced disorderly conduct charges on Sandbar Ferry Road. A vehicle on Sandy Hollow Road in Windsor had a breakdown with window damage and tampered dash. Approximately 300 worth of items were stolen from a car including electronics clothing and miscellaneous goods. An Alien woman was arrested for unlawful alcohol concentration on Edgefield Avenue. A Union Street resident found a bathroom window open and $50 hidden under a pillow missing.

New members join Aiken Rotary Club

Mark Harrison and Charlie Weiss are inducted into the Aiken Rotary Club at this week’s meeting. Harrison runs Baby Grand Restaurant and Grill and The Tuscany at Hotel Aiken. Weiss succeeded June Murff as President of the Aiken Chamber of Commerce. Dr. Dan Smith spoke on macular degeneration. Meetings are Mondays at 12 30 PM at the Aiken Municipal Conference Center. Rick Osbon is president.
