Braves Reach Five Year Extension with Uggla
The Atlanta Braves agreed with second baseman Dan Uggla on a 62 million dollar five year contract. Uggla joined the Braves from Florida in a November trade that sent Omar Infante and Mike Dunn to the Marlins. He hit 287 with 33 homers and 105 RBIs last season and would have become a free agent after the 2011 World Series without the deal. Braves GM Frank Wren characterized Uggla as a long term fit.
