Suspect surrenders after 13 hour Georgia motel standoff
David Dietz a 25 year old former South Carolina officer surrendered peacefully at the Red Roof Inn near Interstate 20 after a 13 hour standoff. He held an infant his estranged wife Eva Arce Perez and a 17 year old girl in a second floor room. Dietz faces kidnapping charges in South Carolina and Georgia authorities charged him with five counts of aggravated assault for firing on officers.
