January marks National Blood Donor Month as Shepeard Community Blood Center reports critically low supplies of O positive C negative and B positive blood types. Linda Taylor notes one to two day reserves for several types and urges whole blood and platelet donations. Doug Cook donation highlights ALYX component collection enabling six extra lifesaving red cells.

City approval granted for front facade. plans include storefront windows balcony and upstairs windows. Upstairs to become apartments with first floor commercial rental. completion targeted early February for upstairs and soon after for downstairs.
