Sanford budget trims college funding and boosts K-12 in SC
South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford proposes a 2006 2007 budget that adds 120 million for K 12 teacher raises and early childhood funding while cutting higher education by hundreds of thousands at USC Aiken and freezing tuition increases at 3 5 percent. Chancellor Tom Hallman warns the cuts plus reduced state support could total over 500 000 at the university.
