Friday is the deadline to apply to the South Carolina Tuition Pre-Payment Program which locks in 1998 tuition at 83 public colleges and universities. Applications must be postmarked by Friday. Program spokesman Mark Chambers cautions this is the only college savings plan that can lock in 1998 rates. More details at 888 7SC-GRAD.
Registration for the 1999 six on six winter soccer league and the winter men and women adult leagues will run through Thursday at Harrison-Caver Park on S C 421 in Clearwater. A coaches meeting is at 7 pm. Entry fee is 250 per team. Maximum of 12 teams. For details call Leon or Vince at 593 4698.
The Aiken Chapter of the Retired Officers Association hosts a meeting at Houndslake Country Club with a slide program titled Truk Lagoon: Above And Below The Water by Judy Shephard.
