A government study finds teenagers face higher personal violence risk in schools than on streets, especially in junior high hallways during class changes. Rest rooms cafeterias locker rooms and gyms are also risky, while classrooms are safest. 40 percent of urban teen robberies and 36 percent of assaults occur in schools.
Elizabeth Ray claims she exposed her affair with former Rep. Wayne L. Hays to gain attention and now regrets it. She described Hays as an honest, good man and said the revelation was a front to attract notice during the 1970s scandal.

Aiken County opens the 1978 General Sessions term Monday with Judge Rodney Peeples presiding for six months. Grand Jury to report at 10 a.m., petit jurors at 10 a.m. Tuesday, defendants and attorneys by 10:30 a.m. Monday. About ten carry-over cases from December and roughly 40 indictments expected.
