Gospel legend Jake Hess dies at 76 in Alabama
Jake Hess, four time Grammy winner and influential gospel singer, died Sunday at 76 after a heart attack on December 16. He helped form The Imperials and sang with The Statesmen Quartet and The Masters V, shaping Elvis Presley’s career and earning inductions in the Southern Gospel and Alabama Music Halls of Fame. Hess was a regular on Bill Gaither's Homecoming Friends and backed Presley on several Grammy-winning albums.

State officials set to testify in Manning education suit
