Confederate Veterans Get Grave Markers
Two Aiken County veterans of the War Between the States receive Veterans Administration grave markers in a ceremony in Montmorenci. Private Charles Pinckney Seigler, who died in 1875, and Private Jackson Woodward, who died in 1892, are honored. Woodward will be celebrated Sunday at 2 PM at First Baptist Church Montmorenci with Palmetto Battalion salutes as SCV dedicates his stone. The Bee Camp aims to locate and mark all local Confederate graves and invites tips to P O Box 1863, Aiken 29802.
